According to a post on its official Instagram account, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has said that “the authority allows the possibility of renewing your residency 90 days before its expiry”.

This allows for ample time to plan your next adventure, eliminating the need for last-minute scrambling.

No fines levied during the grace period

The authorities have stated that residents are given a specific grace period after the expiration of their residence visa to renew it without incurring any additional financial penalties.

One convenient method to receive early notifications regarding the nearing expiry date of your visa is by downloading the ‘UAEICP’ app, which is accessible on both Apple and Android devices. Upon logging into the app with your UAE Pass, all you need to do is activate notifications on your phone. This will ensure you receive timely updates, assisting you in renewing your residence visa promptly.

How to renew your UAE residence visa

Renewing your residence visa has never been easier, especially with the convenience of the UAEICP app. By logging into your account, you can easily apply for the ‘renew residency’ option. Once you have submitted your application for the residence visa renewal, you can visit a nearby medical fitness test center to complete the necessary tests.

Upon the release of your medical fitness test results, you will promptly receive an update via SMS on your registered mobile number and email address. Following this notification, you can proceed to finalize the residence visa renewal process through the app. Once the payment has been made, your visa will be issued within a swift 48-hour timeframe.
