Traffic fines in the UAE: How to convert them to monthly payments

If you have accumulated substantial traffic fines, the Ministry of Interior in the UAE offers a convenient solution to convert them into manageable instalments.

On October 19, the Ministry of Interior utilized its social media platforms to promote the instalment service, enabling drivers to divide their fine amounts into instalments without incurring any profit or interest charges.

In 2021, the Ministry established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with four prominent national banks to facilitate this service for motorists.

Four banks that offer the service:

  1. First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB)
    2. Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD)
    3. Emirates Islamic
    4. RAKBank

How to use the service

Banks offer motorists the convenience of selecting from flexible payment plans known as Easy Payment Plans (EPPs), which can be spread over 3, 6, 9, or 12 months.

Nevertheless, it is worth noting that there might be a minimum fine amount, such as Dh1,000, required to avail of this service through your bank.

The procedure for converting the fine amount into EPPs may differ depending on the bank, hence it is crucial to reach out to your bank and follow their specific process.
