The visa service fee for Emirates ID has been raised by Dh100 - everything you need to know

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has announced a Dh100 rise in service costs, which you must account for if you intend to apply for an Emirates ID, a residence visa, or a visit visa in the UAE (ICP).

According to an announcement on ICP’s smart services platform, “Dh100 have been added to all services under the item ‘Smart Services Fees’ except for the following: A. Citizens services (passports, issuance, renewal and replacement of an identity card for a citizen, family book services); B. Services provided by ICP service centres; Services completely exempt from fees.”

So, if you are planning to apply for an ICP service through the official e-services platform – https://smartservices.icp.gov.ae/ – the service will reflect the updated fees.

What happens if one applies through a typing centre?

Due to the fact that the centres are registered with ICP, the cost increase will also apply if you apply for the service through one of the UAE’s typing centres.

The cost of ICP Smart Service has increased by Dh100 for services including resident visa, tourist visa, and Emirates ID.

All Emirates IDs will be subject to the rise in ICP’s smart service price. Additionally, it applies to visas for permanent residence and travels to the UAE’s other seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain.

The service charges will also be charged if you pay a visa overstay fine or apply for a visit visa to the UAE from outside.

The cost of applying for and renewing an Emirates ID, paying an overstay fee, and applying for a visa both from outside and inside the UAE has increased by Dh100. For instance, the cost of a two-year Emirates ID, including our service charge, was Dh285. It is now Dh385.
