Do you find it difficult to follow the medical advice that you may have been given by doctors throughout the years? Perhaps you can recall the brand name of the prescription that was prescribed to you, but not the dosage. or are unable to recall whether you have previously had a health condition checked for.
Abu Dhabi residents will now be able to track their whole medical history, including recent and previous lab test results, any allergies noted, the prescriptions they have been prescribed, the dosage, and any diseases for which they have been diagnosed with.
The Department of Health (DoH) in Abu Dhabi introduced the Malaffi service during the current Gitex Global 2022 trade show.
Malaffi, which is essentially a platform for exchanging health information, allows doctors and other healthcare professionals to share patient medical data and records. The scheme has now connected about 99 percent of Abu Dhabi’s medical facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.
The platform is the first of its kind in the world to permit the transmission of medical images in addition to medical reports, giving doctors and other healthcare professionals access to information like the findings of MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scans or X-rays.
Residents of Abu Dhabi must use the “health portal” function of Malaffi in order to view their medical records. Malaffi Health Portal, an app that can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, as well as healthportal.malaffi.ae offer the service. It will also be made available through the Google Play Store.
One app and one portal across all the facilities allow patients to access their own medical records, lab results, and other personal health information. Therefore, regardless of the medical facility a patient visits, they will be able to interact with their own medical record.

How can one use the service?
In order to access the service, you need to follow these steps:
- Open the ‘Malaffi Health Portal’ app from the Apple App store or go to healthportal.malaffi.ae. It is expected to become live soon for the Google Play Store.
- Log in with your Emirates ID or your UAE Pass.
- After that, the system will take you to your personal health dashboard, where you may view information about your medical background.
