Soon, UAE residents will be able to submit their biometric information via their smartphones, which is necessary when applying for an Emirates ID for the first time.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security debuted the service at Gitex Global 2022. (ICP).
Here at Gitex, they are introducing a new method of collecting biometric information that allows applicants to do so using their smartphones.
The services provided by the ICP’s smartphone application, “UAE ICP,” which is available for both Apple and Android smartphones, will be featured together with the programme that allows remote registration of biometric data.
How will the service work?
Simply scanning a passport or the barcode from a visa application would be sufficient for an applicant.
The app will use facial recognition to verify your identification before instructing you on how to collect your biometric data.
To guarantee that all fingerprint data is recorded, users must adhere to the app’s instructions regarding how to position their fingertips and the phone.
Although a precise launch date for this service has not yet been specified, applicants will find it simpler if they can submit their information using a smartphone application.
