Rescheduling your Emirates ID biometric appointment online in the UAE

If this is your first time applying for an Emirates ID, you will be required to provide your biometric data, including your fingerprint and iris scan. To do this, you can schedule an appointment at a customer happiness center of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP). However, it’s worth noting that if you cannot attend your appointment, rescheduling is a simple process through the ICP website – smartservices.icp.gov.ae.

The best part is that this service is completely free of charge. All you need is your Emirates ID reference number or PRAN number, both of which can be found on your Emirates ID registration form.

How to change Emirates ID biometric appointment online

You can easily complete this process on your own if you have the necessary details from your Emirates ID application. In case you utilized a typing center or a Public Relations Officer (PRO) from your sponsoring company to apply for the Emirates ID, they typically send you the registration form or provide the reference number or PRAN number separately.

Step 1: Access the online service

There are two methods to initiate the process of rescheduling your appointment:

1. Scan the Quick Response (QR) code on the Emirates ID registration form:

Once you have completed the online Emirates ID application, you will receive a registration form. This form contains essential details that will guide you through the subsequent steps of the Emirates ID issuing process. Notably, the form includes a Quick Response (QR) code, which grants you the flexibility to reschedule your Emirates ID fingerprint scan. By simply scanning the code, you will be redirected to the ICP website, where you can conveniently modify the appointment date.

2. Visit the ICP website to change the appointment date:

To access the ICP Smart Services website, please visit smartservices.icp.gov.ae. Once on the homepage, navigate to the ‘Public Services’ section.

Next, scroll down until you find the ‘Additional Services’ category. Within this category, locate and click on the ‘Search/Modify for Enrollment Appointment’ option. To initiate the service, simply click on the ‘Start Service’ button.

Step 2: Enter your Emirates ID registration form details:

Provide your registered email address. It is essential to enter the email address you used when completing the Emirates ID application. Afterward, kindly input one of the following details:

The last two numbers are located under the PRAN number.

Step 3: Modify the date and time for the biometric appointment:

To begin, click on the ‘Search’ button, and the ICP website will verify if you already have an application and appointment date in the system. If you do, click on the ‘Edit’ button.

Next, input your passport number, date of birth, and nationality. Afterward, click on ‘Check’.

From the drop-down menu, choose the emirate in which you currently reside. Then, select the enrollment center where your appointment will take place.

Finally, pick a suitable date and time from the provided options.

After selecting your preferred date, a green message will appear, confirming the successful rescheduling of your appointment.

To obtain a physical copy of your updated Emirates ID registration form, simply click on the ‘Print’ icon. This form, now reflecting the new date and time, must be presented at the center for your fingerprint scanning.
