Planning to live in Sharjah? Here is how much rent you will have to pay

Residents of Sharjah may now access real-time rent prices for various neighbourhoods via the Sharjah City Municipality’s Rental Map Platform (SCM).

At Gitex Global 2022, SCM introduced the “Rental Map Platform” in its second phase.

The map’s information reflects the most recent local rental rates in all its data and details. This is due to the fact that SCM’s Rent Regulation Department updates the data in the rental map every six hours to reflect the real-time contracts that are recorded with SCM.

The Rental Map Platform serves as a rental index for Sharjah and provides potential tenants with a general sense of what kind of rent to expect while looking for a home.

So, here is everything you need to know about the Rental Map Platform if you’re moving to Sharjah or searching for a new house in the Emirate.

How does one find the Sharjah Rental Map Platform?

You can access the Rental Map Platform through this link: https://shjrentindex.shjmun.gov.ae/Tenancy-E-search/.

How does one use the platform?

By utilising the website’s accessible filters, visitors may use the interactive online map to find the ideal residence.

There are three ways to search the rental index platform: by rent, area, or type of lease. For instance, you can select the Al Majaz location on the map, choose the kind of contract, and input the type of property and the rental price in accordance with your budget.

The different types of contracts you can choose from are:

The interactive map will display whether properties are available in the area based on the contract type you choose. Next, you can choose the neighbourhood’s average rent.

As a result, if your price range is between Dh20,000 and Dh40,000, enter that amount in the search bar to locate homes in that neighbourhood.

When you select “search,” the map will focus on that location, and all the homes in that neighbourhood with that rental price will be identified using geotags.

Along with the rent, the map will also display nearby public amenities like hospitals, parks, and mosques and provide driving instructions from your current position.

More localities and regions in the Emirate are included in the “Rental Map Platform” update.

According to the most recent rental agreements that have been registered in the SCM system, Sharjah’s rental index provides tenants with an estimate of the typical rent for a villa or apartment in that location.

The Dubai rental index informs tenants of the typical rent in a specific neighbourhood and the maximum rent increase that a landlord may impose if the rent is below the typical range.
