Never get fined for not renewing your parking ticket again with this service

If you have ever received parking fines in Dubai due to forgetting to renew your ticket, then this service is specifically designed for you. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) offers an auto-renewal option on its official smartphone application ‘RTA Dubai’, ensuring that you never find yourself caught off guard by forgetting to renew your parking.

To help you make the most of this convenient service, here is a step-by-step guide on how to utilize the auto-renewal feature.

Step 1: Download the app

The “RTA Dubai” app is accessible on Apple, Android, and Huawei devices. To begin using the app, you must first download it onto your device and then proceed with the setup process.

Step 2: Set up your RTA account

To begin, open the application and locate the ‘Login/Register’ option at the top of the screen.

If you already possess a UAE Pass account or an RTA account, simply log in using either of these credentials.

If you do not have either of these accounts, select the ‘register’ option and proceed with the following steps:

  1. Complete the registration form by providing your desired username, email address, and mobile number.
  2. Create a secure password and confirm it.
  3. Initially, an email containing a One-time Password (OTP) will be sent to you. Enter this OTP to gain access to your account.
  4. Subsequently, a second OTP will be sent to your mobile number as part of a two-step verification process.

Once you have successfully entered the second OTP, your account will be validated, and you can proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Pay for parking through the app

– To access the parking feature, simply navigate to the home page and tap on the ‘parking’ option. From there, select ‘Pay public parking fees’.

– Once you’ve done that, the app will automatically detect the parking zone you’re in. Alternatively, you can manually select the parking zone by either moving the pin on the map or entering the zone number in the search bar.

– The app will then provide you with all the necessary information regarding the parking zone timings and charges based on the number of hours. When you’re ready to proceed, simply tap on ‘Ready to pay?’.

– To manage your vehicles, tap on ‘manage vehicles’ and then input the plate details such as the plate number and the emirate in which the car is registered.

– After that, select the desired duration of parking and tap on ‘pay’.

– Choose your preferred payment method from the options provided and tap on ‘next’.

– Finally, the app will generate a parking ticket summary for your reference.

Step 4: Select the auto-renewal option

This step allows you to choose the ‘auto renewal’ option if you only need to pay for an hour but are uncertain if you will need more time.

To enable the ‘ticket auto renewal’ option, simply toggle the button. The app will prompt you to confirm your selection.

Next, tap on ‘continue’.

From now on, your ticket will be automatically renewed, eliminating the concern of receiving a fine for an expired ticket.

However, it is crucial to remember to disable this option when you are ready to leave the parking space.

Step 5: Disable auto renewal

To disable the auto-renewal feature, follow these simple steps: Open the app and navigate to the home page. Locate and tap on the ‘parking’ option. Once you do this, you will notice that the ‘auto renewal’ option is currently enabled. To turn it off, simply use the toggle button and confirm your selection.
