Dubai: Sharjah residents and citizens now have access to almost every public and private service available through the Digital Sharjah app, which offers over 40 services. Customers can now pay their Sewa bills, traffic fines, or top up their phone credit from the comfort of their homes or offices.

What is Digital Sharjah?

Sharjah’s government has been digitizing its services under the instruction of Crown Prince Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Deputy Ruler and Crown Prince of Sharjah. A new mobile app was launched by Sharjah Digital Office (SDO) on Wednesday, November 24.

All Android and Apple devices can use the app.

The platform can also be accessed through a dedicated website – ds.sharjah.ae.

Sections of the app are dedicated to citizens, residents, and visitors. These sections include services relevant to each group.

What services does Digital Sharjah offer?

The following seven categories contain 41 essential services:

  3. Utilities
  4. Social services

  6. Real Estate
  7. Security

So whether you’re checking the weather or reserving a trade name for your business, the Digital Sharjah app covers almost all government services in the emirate.

Pay Sewa, phone bills, and traffic fines

Do you need to pay a phone bill, electricity bill, or traffic fine? The following payments can be made through the app and website:

The Etisalat bills, recharges, and Sewa bills fall under the Utilities category, while the violations involving transportation and city vehicles come under transportation.

Transportation by Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority

It covers taxis, flights, and all modes of transportation, making it essential for drivers and frequent users of public transportation. Some of the services include:

Book a taxi: Taxis are available in various types – regular taxis, family taxis, ladies’ taxis, taxis for People of Determination, and limousines.

Flight status: Find out flight timings, flight status, and other updates from Sharjah International Airport.

Al Diyafa Service: Travelers can enjoy complete VIP treatment at Sharjah Airport with access to the airport’s lounges through this service.

Lost and found: Report and obtain lost items from Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority.

Road complaint: You can file a complaint or report a damaged or unsafe road.

Social Support

The Sharjah Social Services Department provides welfare and protection services to elderly and mentally ill UAE citizens, as well as to UAE citizens who fall under the category of “People of Determination”.

RAHMA (home nursing): You can request home nursing services or a mental health professional for UAE’s elderly and People of Determination citizens or permanent residents of Sharjah who are low-income.

Home care request: It is designed specifically for UAE citizens over 60 years old, People of Determination, and people with mental health conditions. Customers can request mental, social, and health care packages.

Report Child Abuse: You can use this service to report child abuse and protect children’s rights.

Request for Social Aid Statement: Sharjah’s Social Service Department offers a service that allows any customer registered with them to request a ‘To whom it may concern certificate.

Volunteer Registration Request: Join the Sharjah Centre for Volunteers as a volunteer.

Request for Court Statement: Social assistance customers have the option of requesting a court statement through this service.

Prayer timings, weather

Furthermore, you can find prayer timings and check the weather in addition to accessing public and private services.

Security by Sharjah Police

Through the app and online platform, you can report and submit abuse and violence complaints.

Services for Sharjah businesses

As several services from the Sharjah Economic Development Department are available on this platform, you can run your business through the app if you are a new entrepreneur. A budding business can find all the services it needs under the category of ‘Business’.

Register New Investor: Sharjah registers a new investor.

Reserve a Trade Name: This service allows investors to reserve a trade name for their business.

Search for Licence: Find out more about the specific trade license.

Renew Reservation of Trade Name: A reserved trade name can be renewed by investors.

Social Bundle: Find a registered company.

Print investor licenses’ report request: A physical copy of the license report can be obtained by investors.
