In the UAE, Indians with 14-day visas on arrival can extend their visas

You are eligible for a visa on arrival and are permitted a 14-day stay in the UAE if you are an Indian national with a US visa, Green Card, or residency in the UK or the EU. What options do you have for extending the visa, though, if you want to stay a little longer?

First of all, it’s crucial to realize that applying for a new visa and extending an existing one go through different processes. Applying for a new visa gives you several alternatives to extend your stay, from 30 days to 90 days, whereas extending your visa only gives you the possibility to do so for another 14 days.

However, if all you want to do is prolong your stay by another 14 days, you can submit a visa extension request to the Emirate’s immigration department.

Remember that the visa or Green Card you receive from the US must be valid for at least six months after your arrival in the UAE.

How to extend a 14-day visa on arrival

The immigration desk at the airport where you arrived might be used to request an extension for the on-arrival visa.

If you received your visa at Dubai International Airport, you can also apply for an extension there. Amer Centre, a service center for the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, processes tourist and resident visas (GDRFA).

Here are the procedures you must take in order to request a delay:

Go to the Amer Center that is most convenient for you. Visit this page to get a list of Amer Centres locations in Dubai: https://www.gdrfad.gov.ae/en/customer-happiness-centers#

Ask for the application for an extension of the entry permit for Indians with Green Cards or residents of the UK or EU at the front desk.

For information on your entry, present your passport.

Complete the application and pay the service fees.

After submitting your application, you will receive a text message at the registered phone number you provided verifying that it is being processed and providing you with an update on its status.

Cost

Your entry permit extension will cost you Dh250. However, you can also be required to pay Dh100 in service costs to Amer Centre as well as extra government expenses during the procedure.
