Did you know that you can apply for a renewal of your resident visa online and avoid leaving your house whenever it is time to renew it? Additionally, because both of these services have now been unified in the UAE, you will be able to automatically renew your Emirates ID through the online service.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), which oversees issues involving visas in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah, has made applicants aware of the procedure they can use to complete the renewal of both their visa and Emirates ID.
The renewal application can be submitted via the website www.icp.gov.ae or the smartphone application “UAEICP,” which is accessible through the Apple App Store and the Google Playstore, according to the notice posted on ICP’s social media channels on November 28.
Steps to follow
The ICP recommends that you take the following actions:
Step 1: Log in to smart services if you have already registered, or use your UAE PASS to register yourself as a user.
Step 2: Select the service for “Residence Permit and Emirates ID Renewal.”
Step 3: Examine and amend the data you’ve just retrieved, then pay the fees.
Step 4: Submit a request to get your ID card renewed.
Step 5: Have the authorized delivery service give you your Emirates ID. ICP stated once more that the ID has been authorized in place of the passport-stamped residence visa for residents.

ICP also included extra guidance in its social media post, advising applicants to make sure the data they input is accurate:
- When requesting a renewal or replacement, please double-check that your ID number and expiration date are entered accurately.
- To prevent delays in the processing of your application, please double-check the information you submit to the digital application form before paying the fees.
- Giving true and accurate information guarantees that your application will be processed quickly and within the allotted period.
- Please double-check that all of your information is submitted accurately on the digital application platform, including your phone number, email address, and delivery method.
- Please be aware that ICP will verify and validate the data you enter.
