From Monday, February 14, over 1,000 parking spaces on Al Mamzar Corniche in Al Khan will be converted to pay to park. There will be a parking fee for spaces in this area at all times of the week, including on Fridays and holidays.
The Sharjah City Municipality (SCM) announced the introduction of paid parking spots at Al Mamzar Corniche via their official social media channels on Thursday, February 11.
In Sharjah, there are over 5,000 paid parking spaces in different localities, including Al Mamzar Corniche. So, if you’re a Sharjah resident or a visitor, here’s what you need to know about paid parking in the Emirate.
How much does parking cost in Sharjah?
Sharjah’s public parking fees are as follows:
- Dh2 for an hour
- Dh5 for two hours
- Dh8 for three hours.
In Sharjah, how does one pay for public parking?
The following methods are available for motorists to pay their parking fees:
- Payment can be made through a parking machine.
- You can send an SMS with the message – Parking – to 5566.
- Sharjah’s Digital App.
- Residents of Sharjah can also get a seasonal parking subscription at the Sharjah Municipality’s official website – shjmun.gov.ae
Sharjah parking areas with paid parking
On SCM announced that specific neighborhoods in Sharjah would have paid parking seven days a week starting in March 2021

- The inner streets in Al Shuwaihean
- Al Zahra Street in Al-Musalla
- Al Ghuwair areas
- Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street in Al-Nabaa

- Al Jubail areas
- Al Wahda Street in Al Nahda
- Al-Majaz 2 areas
- Al-Corniche Street in Al-Majaz areas 1, 2, and 3,
- Jamal Abdul Nasser street in both directions in Al-Majaz 2
- Al-Ittihad Street in Al-Nahda.
If you want to avoid paying a fine for not purchasing a parking ticket, public parking spots in Sharjah can be identified by a sign that states: “Paid parking every day of the week, including public holidays.” According to SCM’s website, the fee for not displaying a valid parking ticket is Dh150.
What is the process for applying for a seasonal parking subscription in Sharjah?
By purchasing a seasonal parking subscription, motorists can utilize any public parking space in the Emirate without having to pay every time they use it.
Sharjah’s municipality launched a digital service for issuing and renewing public parking subscriptions last year. Individuals and companies can subscribe to the public parking subscription on an annual, semi-annual, or quarterly basis.
To access the parking subscription, follow these steps:

- The Emirates ID Card
- A vehicle registration card is required
- Visit www.shjmun.gov.ae
- Select the Public Parking Services option on the Smart Services page
- Click on ‘Parking Subscription’
- In order to access this service, you need to create an account with SCM and fill out an application with your personal information.
- After that, to purchase a parking subscription or to renew one, choose your preferred season subscription:
- Annual
- Semi-annual
- Quarterly
