According to a media release from the Abu Dhabi Media Office, individuals who are not fully vaccinated can get the Green Pass on the Al Hosn App as of Thursday, March 25. This requires a negative PCR test result, which gives you a Green status on the app for 48 hours.
In other words, if you are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, you can have a Green Pass on the Al Hosn App if you receive a negative PCR test result in every 48 hours.
Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee announced on March 17 that visitors who are not fully vaccinated will be allowed access to events, tourist attractions, and cultural sites in Abu Dhabi. In order to gain access to these public places, they must present a negative PCR test within 48 hours.
Abu Dhabi International Airport had also announced that passengers arriving at the airport – whether vaccinated or unvaccinated – will not be required to undergo a PCR test upon arrival.
The first relaxations of COVD-19 restrictions in Abu Dhabi were announced on February 25 by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee and came into effect on February 28. As a result, individuals entering Abu Dhabi from within the UAE are no longer required to present an Al Hosn Green Pass. At Abu Dhabi’s border checkpoints, EDE scanners have also been removed.

Unvaccinated individuals can obtain a Green Pass
Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated individuals must have a negative PCR test result in every 48 hours to receive a Green Pass.
Abu Dhabi updates entry rules for visitors who are not vaccinated
On March 17, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee updated the entry requirements for non-vaccinated visitors to events, tourist attractions, and cultural sites. Non-vaccinated individuals can now enter after receiving a negative PCR test within 48 hours.
PCR tests are scrapped on arrival
Abu Dhabi International Airport removed the on-arrival PCR tests for vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers. Passengers who are unvaccinated will still need to undergo a pre-departure PCR test conducted within 48 hours. As of February 26, 2022, vaccinated passengers will not require a test before flying into Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi ends the use of the Green Pass system and the EDE scanners at border checkpoints.
The emergency, crisis and disasters committee of Abu Dhabi approved the removal of EDE scanners and the requirement for a Green Pass to enter Abu Dhabi from within the United Arab Emirates. This rule only applies to entering the Emirate’s borders.
In the Emirate, COVID-19 guidelines have been reduced for events and public places
Social events and tourist and commercial areas in the Emirate have increased their capacity to 90 percent. Public events and areas in Abu Dhabi will continue to use the Green Pass system and EDE scanners.
Abu Dhabi’s Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee announced the following measures:
Attractions and commercial properties
- Indoors, face masks are required.
- Outdoors, masks are optional
- Distancing physically must be observed.
- In malls and amusement parks, EDE scanners are still used to monitor both visitors and employees (for example).
Events
- Indoor events require face masks for public events.
- Participants must present an Al Hosn Green Pass or a negative PCR test result.
Private events
If it is a private event, guests can remove the mask outside but must wear it inside.
Abu Dhabi removes the green list for international travel
All international travelers have been exempted from quarantine and the Green List has been scrapped. With the removal of the Green List, the UAE also stopped performing pre-departure PCR tests on fully vaccinated passengers arriving in the country. Arriving passengers will still need to present a vaccination certificate with a readable QR code.
A negative PCR test conducted within 48 hours of departure is required for unvaccinated travelers.
New COVID-19 close contact measures
The following are the quarantine measures for close contact cases of COVID-19, according to the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis, and Disasters Committee:
- Removal of quarantine and replacement with daily PCR tests for five consecutive days.
- In addition, the wristband requirement for quarantine at home has been eliminated.
Face masks are no longer needed outside
From February 26, face masks are still required indoors, but people can now choose not to wear them outside.
