The Saudi government’s official online portal, Absher, makes it simple to access the most frequently utilized services, whether you are a resident of the country or have recently moved there for a new job.
Through their website, absher.gov.sa, or the “Absher” mobile application, which is compatible with Apple and Android devices, you can access the online service. Users on the platform can apply for and extend their visas, appeal traffic tickets, and obtain a police clearance certificate, among other government services.
In addition to Saudi nationals and residents, the following groups will also be eligible to utilize the Absher platform, according to an announcement made in February 2021 by Saudi Arabia’s General Directorate of Passports (Jawazat):
– Citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states-
Dependents of residents
– Visitors holding valid tourist visas
How to create an Absher account
The actions you must take in order to register for an Absher account on the website are listed below.
- Visit absher.gov.sa
- After clicking “New user,” you will be taken to the registration form for new users.
- Complete the information below:
– Iqama/ID Number (here you can fill in the border number if you are on a visit visa)
It must be a Saudi mobile number for the ‘Mobile Number’ field. It is crucial to remember that the new mobile number will be registered with the new account and withdrawn from any existing Absher accounts for which it had previously been used to register.
– Username
– Password
- Next, choose your favorite language and input the picture code to confirm that you are a registered user. Click “Next” once you have read and accepted the terms and conditions.
- After that, you will be prompted to enter a one-time password (OTP) that was sent to your registered mobile number.
- You will then need to activate your account after entering the OTP.
If you are a resident and have a Saudi bank account, the Absher platform also allows you to use the bank’s smartphone application to activate your Absher account. You can complete this activation by visiting any “self-service registration and activation machine” nearby.
