How to check the status of UAE visas by passport number

Dubai: You may be interested in tracking the status of your visa application if you recently applied for your family’s visa, a visit visa, or an employment visa in the UAE. If so, this is all you need to know.

You can track your visa application status using various online and offline options provided by the UAE government.

What do you need?

Here are the details you need to track your visa application:

– Reference number

– Application number

– Once your visa application form has been submitted, you will receive a copy.

“The reference number can be found on the visa application that you have submitted. Once you apply for a residence visa or an e-visa, the reference number can be found on the application form,” Shafiq Muhammad, Public Relations Officer with Muhaisnah Documents Clearing Services in Dubai

You can only check the UAE visa status and validity after it has been issued if you know your passport number for the inquiry. You cannot check while it is in process. Information is provided below.

Track visa application

As per the UAE Government’s official website – u.ae – if you have applied for a visa to Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, or Fujairah, you can track your visa application on the website of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICA) through the following website: https://smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/applicationTracking

The ‘Request number’ or the ‘Application number’ must be entered here.

You can get an update on the status of your visa application by entering the Application number.

What is the best way to track visas only using passport numbers?

Using your passport number, you can track the status of your visa through the ICA service here: https://beta.smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.ht ml#/fileValidity

Visa holders can check the validity and status of their visas this way. According to Muhammad, this service is only available if your visa has already been issued, not if it’s still in the process.

We can only check the details of the visa status and validity through this process once the visa has been issued – whether residence or visit visa. Once you visit the link, it gives you two options for checking the visa status of ‘e-visa’ or ‘residency’, which is for residence visas or visit visas. The residence visa can only be checked after the visa has been stamped on your passport. If you have an entry permit or visit visa issued, you can select the e-visa option,” Muhammad said.

Step 1: Visit https://beta.smartservices.ica.gov.ae/echannels/web/client/default.html#/fileValidity

Step 2: Choose ‘Search by passport information’.

Step 3: To inquire about your residence visa, select ‘Residency’. Select ‘Visa’ if you have a visit visa or an e-visa/entry permit.

Step 4: Enter your passport number, passport expiration date, and nationality.

Step 5: Verify your identity by checking the Captcha box and clicking ‘Search’.

Following this, the system will provide you with details such as your visa file number, your Unified ID number, your visa status, and the date that your visa expires.
