If you have completed the theory and practical classes for your Dubai driving license, it is time to take a test to assess your knowledge and receive your driving license. Typically, your driving school will schedule the test time and date based on available slots. However, if you need to change the date and time due to work or study obligations, you can easily do so by visiting the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) website.
Learners have the option of whether they are taking a knowledge test, a yard test, or a road test. Here are the steps to take.
Which details of the appointment can one change?
Customers are not charged a fee to change the date and time of a test, according to the RTA website rta.ae. However, rescheduling the test date to an earlier date than what has already been scheduled will cost you Dh300 plus a Dh20 knowledge and innovation fee.
If you are fine with the test date but want to change the time, the RTA call center advises customers to check with their driving center institute to see if a different time for the test is possible.
How to change your driving test date?
To change the date and time of your driving test, first, ensure that you have a valid Emirates ID, then go to this link: https://www.rta.ae/wps/portal/rta/ae/home/rta-services/service-details?serviceId=3704292 and then proceed as follows:
- Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button.
- Next, enter your Emirates ID number and expiry date.
- Next, confirm your identity with ‘RTA’ and click ‘continue’
- Next, enter the OTP sent to your phone. For this, your phone number must be registered with your Emirates ID.
- After that, you will enter your learning permit folder.
- Scroll down to your test; depending on the level you’ve completed, your folder will show the current test you’re taking, such as the Knowledge test, Yard test, Road test, Evaluation test, or Road test.
- Next, select your language, followed by the date and time. If you select October 7th, you will be able to see a list of timings and available seats. For example, there are three seats available at 9:30 a.m.
- After you’ve chosen the best date and time for you, you’ll be prompted to click the ‘confirm’ button. After that, you will receive an SMS and an email to your registered email address and phone number.
