Here's how to apply for a baby visa online in Dubai

If you’ve recently given birth, you may be seeking the simplest method to handle all of the paperwork that comes with obtaining a residence for your newborn.

You can apply for a new residence visa for your child in Dubai utilizing the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs’ smart services platform (GDRFA). You must have digital copies of your child’s identifying documents, as well as your (or the sponsor’s) documents, in order to utilize the programme. Here is a step-by-step guide for completing the procedure.

Get your documents in place

You must first obtain your child’s birth certificate and passport when they are born. It’s also beneficial to have your UAEPass account set up, since this connects your government-issued information to the application, making it easy to fill out only the additional information when you begin the procedure.

It’s a good idea to have digital copies of all of these documents, as well as the documents of both parents, on hand when you’re prepared to start the visa application process.

The following is a list of the documents you’ll require:

– Attested birth certificate for the child. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation must certify the birth certificate (MOFAIC).

– A photocopy of your (sponsor’s) and spouse’s passports, both stamped with a valid residence visa.

– A copy of the sponsor’s Emirates ID

– A passport-sized photo of the newborn child

– The parents’ attested marriage certificate

– A copy of your signed tenancy agreement

– A salary certificate or a contract of employment

How to apply for a newborn visa online in Dubai

  1. Go to www.gdrfa.gov.ae
  2. From the top menu, select ‘Services.’
  3. Click on “Residency services.” You’ll be prompted to check in using your GDRFA account or your UAE Pass.
  4. After logging in, you’ll be taken to your personal dashboard, which contains information on your residency as well as any dependents you’ve sponsored.
  5. In the right-hand corner of the screen, select ‘New application.’
  6. Select ‘new applicant’ under the dependents section, check ‘New resident entrance permit,’ and click ‘apply.’ After that, you’ll be taken to the application form.
  7. Enter your Ejari number and salary.
  8. Fill in your child’s passport information.
  9. Fill in the address information for both Dubai and your home country.
  10. Select “Continue.”
  11. You’ll then be prompted to upload the following files:
  12. Birth certificate b. Child’s photograph c. Salary certificate or labor contract d. Child’s passport copy
  13. Pay according to the visa period you’ve asked for. The overall cost of the visa application for a two-year visa will be roughly Dh2,300. (This does not include the purchase of an Emirates ID.)
  14. Once you’ve paid, you’ll need to specify the passport collection day and time for the visa to be stamped.

If you are in Dubai, you will need to apply for an Emirates ID once your visa has been stamped on your passport.

Hire the services of a typing center

If you would rather pay an expert to complete the process for you rather than file for the visa online, you can go to a registered typing center, where you can just provide the required documents and receive your passport back once the visa has been stamped.

The entire process for a newborn baby’s visa takes seven to eight days. This includes the application for an Emirates ID.

For Emirates IDs, newborn applicants do not need a medical test or biometric data; instead, a parent can just visit the center, give the documents, and pay, after which they will obtain an application receipt.

Which documents does one need to submit?

Applicants must submit the following documents:

– The sponsor’s original Emirates ID – Copies of the parents’ passports

– MOFAIC verified birth certificate

– Attested marriage certificate – Digital photograph of the child in high definition – Tenancy contract – Labor contract

Once they receive the documentation, they type the visa and Emirates ID applications.  Both services are provided concurrently. The cost of a two-year visa, including Emirates ID fees, is around Dh3,500, however, the total cost will vary depending on which visa you apply for. Free zone visas are usually provided for three years, but you can also get a five- or ten-year visa, therefore the costs can vary.
