Have you lost or damaged a birth certificate in the UAE 2022? Here's how to do it online

When you moved, did you lose or damage your child’s birth certificate? If your child was born in the UAE, you can request for a new birth certificate through the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s (MOHAP) official website, despite the fact that losing such a priceless document can be upsetting.

A lost birth certificate replacement application can be submitted online at mohap.gov.ae. It can be processed within 24 hours, and you can choose to have it sent to your house or pick it up from a MOHAP public health center.

Required documents

The local health authority of the Emirate where your kid was born must be contacted in order to obtain the details of the birth certificate, according to the MOHAP call center, if you do not have a copy of the lost or damaged birth certificate.

Cost

The total cost of replacing a lost birth certificate is Dh65.

How to issue a replaced birth certificate online?

To apply for a birth certificate replacement, follow these steps:

  1. Click on “start service” at https://mohap.gov.ae/en/services/issue-of-a-replacement-for-lost-birth-certificate.
  2. Log in using your UAE Pass or make a MOHAP account.
  3. After logging in, select “Issue of a Replacement of Lost Birth Certificate” under “Birth Certificates” in the website’s left-hand corner.
  4. To find out if the birth certificate is present in the MOHAP system, you must next enter the QAID number, which serves as the birth notification number, and the mother’s or father’s birthdate. The electronic birth notification that the hospital gave you contains the Qaid number.
  5. If the database locates the record, MOHAP will display the following details:
  1. If the data is accurate, click “add” after selecting the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen. The next step is to click the three dots once more, followed by the word “Edit.” The system will direct you to the Birth certificate Lost/Replacement request page once you click the edit button.
  2. After that, upload the birth certificate copy and a copy of either the mother’s or father’s passport.
  3. Click “Submit” after adding the attachments. After that, you will be taken to the “Request Certificate” service. Enter the desired number of English or Arabic certificate copies.
  4. After that, you can pick up the birth certificate from a MOHAP Public Health Center or have it delivered to your house.
  5. After making your choice, click “proceed to payment.”
  6. Visit the payment page and use a debit or credit card to make an online payment for the costs.

The new birth certificate will be issued after MOHAP has evaluated the application and processed the payment.

Only a parent or authorized person is permitted to pick up the certificate, according to the MOHAP website. If you are not in the UAE, copies of the original documents are needed, and the certificate should be given to the holder of a power of attorney. The personnel of the relevant consulate of your home country may accept the replaced certificate on your behalf if you do not have any relatives to do so by producing a letter indicating that you have authorized the person to accept the certificate on their behalf. The relevant embassy needs to stamp this letter.
