Have you just bought a new car? Dubai offers online registration

Purchasing an automobile, whether it is new or used, can be thrilling. The registration process for your vehicle may be completed online through the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, so you won’t have to wait long once you’ve paid all the appropriate fees (RTA).

RTA let consumers know on August 9 how to finish the registration procedure by simply logging in with their UAE Pass. A smartphone app called the UAE Pass functions as a single digital account that grants you access to thousands of government services.

Following are the steps you must do in order to register your automobile in Dubai if you are going to make the big purchase:

  1. Go to www.rta.ae, the RTA website.
  2. Select “Apply for registering a new vehicle” from the Drivers and Car Owners Services menu under the Services header.
  3. After that, you will be prompted to log in using your UAE Pass account. After successfully logging in, you will be sent to your individual dashboard.
  4. Click “vehicles,” followed by “Register new vehicle.”
  5. After that, upload the information and files listed below:

a. Upload the electronic change of possession certificate if you are purchasing a brand-new vehicle. Upload the Export certificate if you imported the car from somewhere other than the UAE.

b. Vehicle test certificate.

c. If the vehicle failed the UAE standards test because it did not meet GCC specifications, the Gulf specification conformity form.

d. An electronic insurance certificate that is good for at least six months.

e. A residency permit from Dubai. To use this service if you do not have a visa issued by Dubai, you must meet specific requirements, such as establishing permanent residency in Dubai.

f. Pay the required Dh400 and Dh20 knowledge and innovation fees electronically.

Once the registration process is complete, you can go to an RTA service center to pick up the registration certificate and license plate numbers.

You can register your vehicle in person at one of the RTA service centers in Umm Ramool, Al Manarah, Deira, or Al Barsha if you don’t want to do it online. Another option is to finish the registration process at one of the authorized testing facilities, such Tasjeel or Shamil.

You will need to present copies of your Emirates ID and auto insurance to finish the process at a center.
