Here is a step-by-step tutorial on how to obtain authorization for changing the color of your car.

How to change vehicle color in Dubai?

You can seek a color change in Dubai by submitting an application to the Dubai Police. The steps are as follows:

1. Go to www.dubaipolice.gov.ae to access the Dubai Police website. There is a panel of settings at the bottom of the screen. After clicking ‘Services,’ scroll down and choose ‘Traffic Services’.
2. Choose the option to “Change Vehicle Color” next.
3. Click the ‘Access Service’ button.
4. Next, fill in the form with the following details:

• Emirates ID
• Plate Number
• Category – Private
• Car code

5. Select the colour:

• Current Colour
• New Colour
• Second new colour (optional)

6. Enter contact details:

• Email
• Confirm Email

7. Upload pictures of your current vehicle:

• Front View
• Back View
• Left View
• Right View
• Classic View

8. Then click “Submit.”
9. Pay the service fee online via debit/credit card.
10. After that, you’ll get a transaction number so you can keep track of your application.

You will receive the approval through email at the registered email address you provided after your request has been granted.

• Dh20 – knowledge and innovation fees

Abu Dhabi

The steps listed below should be followed in order to alter the color of your car, according to the Abu Dhabi Police call centre at 800 3333:

1. Visit the inspection centre in the Al Muroor area’s Abu Dhabi Police Headquarters’ traffic division.
2. Request the application to modify the color of the vehicle.
3. Go to the garage of your choice after completing the application to alter the color of your automobile.
4. Return to the inspection centre to get your car inspected after the color has been altered.

Changing your car’s colour without the necessary approvals

According to Ministerial Resolution No. (178) for the year 2017 on Rules and Procedures of Traffic Control, the federal traffic law of the United Arab Emirates, you will be fined Dh800 if you change a vehicle’s colour without first getting authorization from the police.
