Do you plan on moving out? Disconnecting your DEWA connection is one of the most important steps when shifting. With Dubai’s digitization initiative, the disconnection procedure for electricity and water can be completed entirely online through DEWA’s official website – dewa.gov.ae.
Here’s how to deactivate electricity and water through the DEWA website.
Steps:
- Log on to – dewa.gov.ae
- On the left side of the screen, click on ‘Menu’, then ‘Consumer’, and then ‘Supply Management.’
- Click on the ‘Deactivation of Electricity/Water (Move Out)’ service
- You will be redirected to the service page. Select Deactivation of Electricity/Water (Move-out).
- Select the continue button.
- Your Dewa account or the UAE Pass will be required to log in. With the UAE Pass, the DEWA website will automatically recognize and register your phone number, email address, and Emirates ID, but you will need to manually enter your PO Box and Business Partner number. Your business partner number can be found on your DEWA bill under your account number.
For those who do not already have a DEWA account and wish to apply for the service without logging in, you will be required to enter a Contract Account Number (ten-digit number) and a Premise Number (nine-digit number). Both of these numbers can be found on your DEWA bill.
You can now begin filling out the application once you have entered the necessary information.
- Your DEWA account number can be found on your bill.
- Click on the proceed button.
- Fill out the details:
- Phone number.
- Email address.
- Choose the disconnection date and time.
- In a video posted by Dewa, they advise applicants to put ‘I will apply for a refund later’ in the ‘Refund To’ field.
10. Then, click on ‘Submit’ after you have checked ‘I agree to the terms and conditions’.
11. Review your details and click ‘Confirm’. The final bill will be processed within 24 hours after the submission.
