As the weather cools, many UAE residents have begun to plan and get ready for the upcoming camping season.

The Dubai Municipality stated on Monday, October 17, that it would begin accepting applications for temporary winter camp licences on October 18. The Al Awir-1 area is covered by camping permits.

However, in order to be granted a camping permit, some requirements must be satisfied. Here is everything you require to know.

Where is the permit for?

The area of Al Awir-1, where the camping spots are located, is one that Dubai Municipality has developed. The municipality claimed in the announcement that they had worked with the Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and the Dubai Civil Defence to make sure that the camping areas were clean, secure, and equipped with all necessary supplies.

In addition to having government agencies situated in the campsite to safeguard campers, vendors and retailers also offer necessary camping supplies, tools, and services.

When is the Al Awir camping season?

Al Awir-1’s camping season will start on November 1 and extend through the end of April 2023.

Who is eligible for the temporary winter camp permit?

Only Emiratis having passports issued by the Emirate of Dubai are qualified to apply for the permit, according to Dubai Municipality.

How long is the permit’s duration?

The minimum period for which a permit may be awarded is three months, and applicants may request this length of time. Additionally, you can apply for a three-, five-, or six-month permission.

Cost

The weekly payment per square metre is 44 fils. Depending on the campsite you pick, which states that no campsite may be larger than 400 square metres.

Rules to follow

Permit holders are not permitted to rent out the camps or let others use them, according to Dubai Municipality. These camps cannot be rented to businesses or lodging establishments because they are not intended for commercial usage. Only families are permitted to use the camping facilities.
