Travelers can scan their biometric passport or Emirates ID at the smart gate and stroll through a biometric identification system without the requirement for an exit stamp on their passports, according to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website. Face and iris recognition technology are used at the gates to allow travelers to complete passport control procedures without the need for human participation.
