Dubai sovereign wealth fund skyscraper has featured double-decker lifts in it

DUBAI: Dubai’s recent skyscraper that will be home to the emirate’s sovereign wealth fund will have double-decker lifts.

The builder called ALEC Engineering and Contracting has recently completed the main construction works of Tower A on Ithra Dubai’s One Za’abeel project.

One Za’abeel was designed as a floating gateway to Dubai’s financial district,” said Fadi Jabri, executive officer at Nikken Sekkei, the lead architects and engineers on the project.

This is 304 meters tall, and also it is linked to neighboring Tower B via a 225-meter sky bridge called ‘The Link’.

Raised at a little more than 100 meters over the ground, ‘The Link’ will put the project in the record books as the world’s longest-occupied building cantilever, the contractor said.

But perhaps, an equally interesting feature for people working with regards to the building will be its double-decker lifts serving two contiguous floors at the same time.

Constructing tall buildings with ample lift capacity has been an everlasting problem for the architects working over the emirate’s famously tall buildings since the initial days of the construction boom years.

A portion of the city’s buildings have gained a reputation for congestion during top hours, for example, noon when lobbies can immediately get packed with laborers.

That has put elevator innovation at the focal point of large numbers of Dubai’s super-tall buildings, with designers adding progressively intricate highlights intended to get more individuals all over buildings more quickly, with blended achievement.

The new Tower A structure will have three lifts committed to serving the ground and first floors to the 24th and 25th and two lifts going from basement one and ground floor to the 61st and 62nd floors.

It will give travelers express access to ‘The Link’ and ICD offices separately at a speed of eight meters each second, which means a travel season of only forty seconds from the basement and ground floor to the top, ALEC said.
