A complete Guide – Green Planet Dubai in City Walk

Green Planet Dubai

Would you like to experience a tropical rainforest in the middle of the desert? You can explore an indoor rainforest that sustains over 3000 plants and animals inside The Green Planet Dubai, which is located at City Walk. It is based on the real rainforests of the world and was designed and developed by Meraas. Here’s a quick guide to Dubai’s enchanting bio-dome, one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions.

About Green Planet Dubai:

The Green Planet indoor rainforest was opened back in early 2016. There are over 2800 exotic species of flowers and animals in this rainforest, which gives you an idea of how important tropical forests are today.

The Green Planet consists of four different forest levels, The Mid Story, The Canopy, The Flooded Rainforest, and The Forest Floor.

Green Planet has everything from snakes to sloths to creepy reptiles to bugs to piranhas. The Australian Walkabout, Sugar Glider Encounter, Reptile Encounter, Piranha Encounter, Bird Encounter, Sloth Encounter, and Bat Cave are the activities that you shouldn’t miss if you’re looking to interact with a wide range of plants and animals.

Australian Walkabout:

You will also learn about a wide range of captivating creatures at the Australian Walkabout. The new additions to this walkabout include lace goanna lizards, lizards and turtles, wallabies, and Australian carpet pythons.

Tropical Thunderstorm:

Dubai rarely experiences rain. The Green Planet offers the Thunderstorm experience where you can see torrential rains. By having this experience, you will understand what it’s like to have rain in the tropics.

Within this time frame, there will be daily thunderstorms scheduled between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm that will last five minutes. Besides visitors, they are also meant for the dome’s global animal habitat. There are always instructors who will explain how each species reacts to rain during the experience.

Piranhas:

You will find both carnivorous and vegetarian Piranhas in Green Planet.  One of the more dangerous and aggressive species of its kind, the species is notorious for having a razor-sharp bite capable of crushing the flesh from healthy organisms. You will also be able to hear them bark.

Animal Encounters

Sugar Glider Encounter:

There is no doubt that visitors and tourists who have visited The Green Planet by Meraas enjoyed their encounters with sugar gliders. Despite their small size, these animals are omnivorous, nocturnal, and nocturnal.

Using the thin flaps of skin beneath their arms, they glide from tree to tree. People can interact with the sugar gliders for 20 minutes per day during this marsupial encounter. At each session, six participants are allowed to enter at a time. Sessions start at 3:30 pm daily.

Sugar gliders are a popular subject for pictures. A biologist will be available to answer questions and provide information regarding the rainforest and its ecosystem.

Sloth Encounter:

The sloth encounter interactive session takes place at 2:30 p.m. every day, so you’ll be able to get up close to sloths hanging upside-down from trees.

Reptile Encounter:

Reptile encounter, scheduled for 12:30 PM, is yet another 20-minute interactive segment where you can get up close and personal with some of the scariest reptiles, including snakes, chameleons, lizards, geckos, and turtles.

Bird Encounter:

Sign your kids up for The Green Planet’s Bird Encounter if they want to see a Toucan up close. At the facility, visitors have the opportunity to see toucans, caiques, and other small parrots every day at 11:30 am.
