The Qatari Cabinet approves a draft decision on resolving real estate disputes

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, presided over the Cabinet’s regular meeting on Wednesday morning at its seat in the Amiri Diwan.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of Justice and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ibrahim bin Ali Al Mohannadi made the following statement:

At the start of the meeting, the Cabinet extended heartfelt greetings to HH Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani on the occasion of Eid Al Adha, requesting that Allah Almighty return this blessed occasion for His Highness with the best of health and wellness, and for the State of Qatar and its people with further development and prosperity under HH the Amir’s wise leadership, as well as the Arab and Islamic nations with goodness and blessing.

The Cabinet then discussed the topics on its agenda as follows:

First, the Cabinet approved a draft law amending some provisions of Law No. (15) of 2011, which combats human trafficking, and decided to refer it to the Shura Council.

Second, the Cabinet approved a draft decision to establish and form the government warehouse inventory committee.

Third, the Cabinet approved a draft decision to establish real estate development dispute resolution committees.

The draft decision was prepared by the provisions of Law No. (6) of 2014, which regulates real estate development. The committee is in charge of resolving all disputes arising from real estate development as soon as possible and by the provisions of the aforementioned law.

Fourth, the Cabinet approved a draft decision amending certain provisions of Decision No. (33) of 2020, which established the minimum wage committee, its working system, and remuneration.

Fifth, the Cabinet approved a restructuring of the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority’s Board of Directors.

Sixth, the Cabinet approved:

1- Joining the World Economic Forum’s Global Coalition for Digital Safety.

2- A draft agreement between the Qatari government and the United Nations on the arrangements for the 11th session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption.

3- A draft air services agreement between the Government of the State of Qatar and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

4- Draft memorandum of understanding between the Qatar Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the People’s Republic of China to establish an investment and economic cooperation working group.

5- Draft agreement between the Qatari and Burundi governments to encourage and protect mutual investments.

Seventh, the Cabinet reviewed the National Human Rights Committee’s annual general report and made an appropriate decision.
