During the past week, the Jeddah Mayoralty, working with the appropriate authorities, was able to reclaim 18 government land sites on the Red Sea coast in North Obhur. These sites span more than 217,000 square meters. The mayoralty’s continuous efforts to safeguard public property included this.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, 52 locations total—a total area of 3.254 million square meters—have been reclaimed since the mayoralty began its field campaign to eradicate encroachments. The goal of the mayoralty is to restore these locations and turn them into public parks.
In order to increase the value of these waterfronts as a destination for tourists and investors, the mayoralty emphasized the need to keep up efforts, working with the appropriate authorities, to reclaim government land on the waterfronts, implement regulatory procedures, and clear encroached sites.
In keeping with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, this also seeks to protect public property and promote sustainable development.
