Dar Global will move quickly to construct a Trump Tower in Dubai. Actually, when Donald Trump takes office for the second time on January 20, this should be the brand’s first skyscraper project to debut.
Dar Global’s CEO Ziad El Char is keeping the location and other details of the Dubai project under warps for the moment. “We are looking at a Q2-25 launch – I feel doing the launch in Q1-25 would be a bit tight,” said El Chaar. “As for the location, it will be in the wider Downtown area, with views of the Burj Khalifa and of the sea.
“I can tell you that this will be one of the most iconic towers in the area.” (That’s saying something for a location that already has its fair share of standout developments.)
The Dh2 billion plus project will also feature the ‘first Trump hotel in Dubai’.
As the time for launch approaches, it is the culmination of a 20-year-long endeavor to build a Trump Tower in Dubai. A Palm Jumeirah project was really announced, however it was shelved due to the 2008 Global Financial Crisis. Although there have been additional Trump-branded developments in Dubai since then, there has never been a tower with the same name.
That problem ought to be resolved permanently in a few months.
Jeddah gets its own Trump Tower
When it comes to projects in collaboration with The Trump Organization, Dar Global is going into overdrive. The Trump Tower in Jeddah was inaugurated last week. It will be a 200-meter high-rise with 47 stories and 500 opulent apartments that range in price from SR4 million to SR50 million by 2029.
How much did the project cost? That might wind up costing about SR2 billion. Approximately 1.5 million square feet would be the built-up area.
On whether the cost of development wasn’t slightly on the higher side, even for a premium project such as this, El Chaar said: “Don’t go by just the height of 200 metres. It’s a big project being created, with a land of 120,000 square feet in one of the prime spots in Jeddah. It’s in the heart of the Corniche area, very close to the Formula 1 race area.”
In June of last year, the land was purchased. Next month, enabling work on the site will start, adding to the already hectic calendar of contracts coming in for Saudi Arabia’s construction industry.
“There will also be a first private member’s club with the Trump name at the Jeddah Tower, said El Chaar. “And with all the amenities that one would expect from such institutions found in New York or London
More Trump projects coming in Saudi Arabia
More developments in Saudi Arabia are planned for the Dar Global partnership with The Trump Organization. In addition to a community centered around a trademark golf course, Riyadh will see the construction of another high-rise.
“We are continuously looking for new projects that can deserve the brand ‘Trump’ and will satisfy potential owners and users,” said El Chaar. “From our side, we will always like to collaborate and propose to The Trump Organization on more projects. They will eventually select if they want to. For now, the focus is on launching the Riyadh projects.”
