Bahrain Marina, a mixed-use development worth $525 million, begins construction

On the eastern coastal strip of Manama, the mixed-use BD200 million ($525 million) project of Bahrain Marina Development Company has begun construction.

The Bahrain Marina project, which spans a 256,000 square meter area, will provide a distinctive fusion of living, shopping, beautiful beaches, and a variety of water sports.

It will contain a total of 274 residential units, 192 retail spaces, and a 68,637-square-meter hotel with 304 rooms.

Along with Mohamed Salahuddin Engineers & Architects (MSCEB), who will be in charge of the project’s initial construction, Nass Contracting, a division of Nass Corporation, has been appointed as the lead contractor in charge of carrying out the project.

Chairman of the Board of Directors Khalid Mohamed Yusuf Najibi, Managing Director Yusuf Al Thawadi, Chairman of Nass Contracting Sameer Nass, and CEO of Nass Corporation Engineer Shawqi Al Hashemi were also present.

Thamer Salahuddin, the CEO of MSCEB, and Chairman Mohamed Salahuddin were all present, along with other top representatives from all parties involved.

Due to its wide experience and competence in project management and quantity surveying, Haj Gulf was recently hired to work on the development.

A pioneer in architecture and master planning, Benoy created the Bahrain Marina project.

The initiative aims to strengthen the tourism industry, integrate with the broad objectives of the national tourism plan, and underline its status as a major hub for international tourism. According to Najibi, it increases the contribution of tourism to the national economy. He also noted that the agreements reached mark a crucial beginning of the project’s construction.

The marina will contain 235 boat and yacht berths in addition to 1,769 underground parking spaces.

“Their collective goal is to transform this coastal area into an unparalleled tourist, commercial, and residential enclave in Manama, the capital city. This development will offer a unique blend of living, shopping, scenic beaches, and diverse water sports activities,” noted Najibi.

“The comprehensive project scope encompasses a marina club building, a commercial complex, restaurants, and a multi-story tower featuring luxurious sea-view apartments,” he added.

Najibi expressed his pleasure in the agreement and emphasized its critical importance in light of the project’s implementing businesses’ cutting-edge skills.

He claimed that the building of Bahrain Marina was a crucial component of the overall waterfront plan for Manama, the country’s capital and that it would have a significant impact.

“These contributions include bolstering the national economy, aligning with its growth trajectory, generating employment opportunities, and fostering the development of the tourism and commercial sectors. Additionally, it aligns with the broader goals outlined in the tourism strategy for 2022-2026,” he added.

According to him, Bahrain Marina is one of the promising investment projects that will net attractive returns for its investors. “It is set to create both direct and indirect job opportunities for local talents across various sectors, encompassing commerce, tourism, and investments,” he added.

Nass expressed his happiness at working with the Bahrain Marina Development Company and making use of their vast expertise in carrying out development activities for this well-known tourist destination.

He pointed out that this initiative would bring about an unmatched all-encompassing expansion and mark a substantial addition to the kingdom.
