Barwa to pay $4.77mln to Tamdeen after Qatar court denied the appeal

Barwa Real Estate provided that they will have to pay 1.44 million Kuwaiti dinars ($4.77 million) or its equivalent in Qatari riyals to Tamdeen Real Estate Co after Qatar’s cassation court denied Barwa’s appeal regarding the Kuwaiti company.

The cost represents fees for design work and consulting services, adding on to a cost of 500,000 Qatari riyals as compensation, Barwa provided in a filing on the Qatar stock exchange Sunday.

The lawsuit relates to a legal disagreement about expenses for arranging and counseling configuration works carried out by Al Tamdeen for Barwa in 2008 preceding the task was dropped. Al Tamdeen documented a claim in 2013 to request the expenses and pay.

Barwa said the judgment won’t influence the group’s financials for 2021, as the organization has made an allocation for the full amount in previous years.
